Updated On: February 05, 2024 | Published On: March 25, 2021

Is Ireland big dog friendly? This is a question we get asked a lot at Paws Friendly, and the answer, simply, is yes. There are loads of large dog pet-friendly hotels around the Republic of Ireland, and up until now, the trouble has been trying to comb through the different pet-friendly policies, reading the fine print to see if there is a maximum size limit or weight limit for dogs. In order to help our readers find the perfect place to stay with their big dogs, we have put our paws to the pavement, and collected a list of 32 hotels that are big dog friendly! Just a little side note; we have defined a “large dog” as a dog weighing up to 35 kilos or about the size of a standard Labrador. So, if you are traveling with an extra-large dog, please check with the pet policy agreement with the hotels before booking. If a hotel listed in this article has a maximum weight or size limit, we have included it. We should also say, restrictions in dog sizes and accessible areas do not apply to service animals.

This summer looks like it is going to be the perfect time to take a dog-friendly road trip in Ireland. With international travel still up in the air, why not make the most of the beautiful country around us, road trips lend themselves perfectly to being able to travel with big dogs so keep reading to find out which pet-friendly locations you can put on your map for traveling with a big dog.
