South Sands is a beautiful beachside hotel, restaurant & cocktail bar, right on the beach at South Sands, Salcombe, Devon. Surrounded by stunning cliffs, wooded valleys, and seascapes, this is a beautiful environment in which to relax and explore.
Created in 2010, the hotel established a beachside, New England style, with light airy rooms and original design.
The restaurant & cocktail bar is open all year to both residents and non-residents.

Pet Policy
We LOVE dogs here at South Sands, and with the beach on our doorstep, we are the perfect location to bring your four-legged family members to stay and enjoy a holiday with you.
We have pet-friendly rooms available in our Optimist, Enterprise, Yawl and Dragon Room categories as well as in 4 of our 5 Beach Suites. There is an additional charge of £19.50 per dog per night for their stay. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs in our smaller rooms and 3 in our larger (call for detail).
Dogs can join their owners anywhere in the hotel, including the bar and restaurant. Your dog can join you for breakfast, cream tea, and dinner, wherever you choose to sit.
South Sands is a dog-friendly beach from October until May. Hours are restricted to before 10am and after 7pm during the busier months. North Sands, a short walk away, is dog friendly all year round and there are plenty of stunning coastal and trail walks from the hotel which provides incredible views of Salcombe and the surrounding area (or perhaps you are into canicross and like to run these trails with your dog!). Other dog-friendly beaches in the area include the East Portlemouth beaches on the other side of the estuary, Soar Mill Cove, South Milton Sands and Slapton Sands.
